Moszna Castle costs: tickets, transport and tours

What it costs
In short: a visit has two possible shapes and they cost in completely different currencies of effort. Do it yourself and your outlay is the castle’s own ticket, priced in złoty, plus the fuel or the train-and-taxi fare to a village with no direct connection. Book a private tour and one payment covers the driving and the guiding, with the castle ticket usually still to be settled; that price is live on GetYourGuide and we do not copy it here. In winter the park itself costs nothing.

Budget one: doing it yourself

The castle prices the park, the chambers and the towers as separate products and then sells them in combinations. Here is the published list in full for the two seasons the castle states clearly.

April to October, the peak season.

December to February, the winter season.

March and November sit between the two. The castle publishes a weekday and weekend split for those months: the park is free on weekdays and 24 PLN (14 reduced) at weekends, and chamber tours run roughly 18 to 57 PLN depending on the type and the day. We are not going to guess the cells the castle does not publish, so check the list before you travel. The reserved “Daily Life of the Castle” guided tour is listed separately at 70 to 94 PLN.

The reduced rate covers children aged 3 to 15, students with identification up to the age of 26, pensioners with identification, people with a significant disability, and holders of the Large Family Card or the Opole Family Card. Children under 3 go free. Season is doing most of the work in these numbers, which is why we treat the price list as a calendar on the best time to visit.

The part of the bill that is not a ticket

Moszna is a village about 30 km south of Opole, between Prudnik and Krapkowice, and no direct public connection reaches it. Whatever you spend on entry, you will spend something on arriving. By car it is roughly 111 to 125 km from Wrocław, about 114 km from Katowice and about 185 km from Kraków, so the fuel and the tolls scale with that. Without a car, the fastest route is a train to Gogolin and a taxi for the last stretch, which puts a second fare on top of the rail ticket; Gorazdze plus a taxi works too and takes longer, and a bus to Opole plus a taxi is slower again. Parking at the castle is about 50 spaces by the reception entrance, free for overnight guests and subject to availability, and buses cannot park there. The full comparison of routes is on how to get to Moszna Castle.

Budget two: booking a private tour

The second budget replaces the transport problem with a single booking. All three products GetYourGuide lists for Moszna are private tours from a city, so the figure you see covers the vehicle and the guiding rather than a seat on a coach. We are not going to print that figure. It moves with the season, the party size and the operator, and a stale number here would cost you money or waste your time. Open the panel below and the current price and the dates that actually exist appear together.

What works

  • One payment removes the drive, the parking and the return timing.
  • A guide who speaks English is arranged in advance, which the castle’s own limited guided slots do not guarantee.
  • The Katowice and Kraków products add Pławniowice Palace, so the road cost buys two buildings.
  • Live pricing means what you are quoted is what is being sold today.

Worth knowing

  • Expect to buy castle entry separately unless the listing says otherwise.
  • Two and a half hours each way from Kraków is five hours of road in a day.
  • The castle is a working hotel, restaurant and events venue, so weddings and festivals can move what is open.
  • Inclusions, timings and cancellation terms are set by the operator and stated on the listing, not by us.

What we would actually budget

Our read: if you have a car, the honest cost of Moszna is one combined ticket and a tank of fuel, and the winter version of that is close to free once the park stops charging. If you do not have a car and you are starting from a city, the private tour is not the expensive option, it is usually the only one that fits into a single day without a taxi bill and a lot of waiting. Either way, budget the chambers and the park together rather than separately, and decide in advance whether the towers are worth their own line. How much time all of that needs is set out on how long you need at Moszna Castle.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a ticket to Moszna Castle?

These are the figures Moszna Castle publishes on its own price list, checked in August 2026. Between April and October the park is 24 PLN (14 reduced) and guided chambers with park entry are 57 PLN (37 reduced). Between December and February the park is free and guided chambers with park entry are 33 PLN (23 reduced). The castle states it may change visiting hours and tour availability, so confirm on the official price list before you travel.

Is Moszna Castle free in winter?

The park is. The castle lists park entry as free from December to February, while the towers and the chambers still carry their own reduced winter prices. That makes winter the cheapest way to see the outside of the building, and it is one of the reasons we cover the seasons in detail on the best time to visit.

Why do you not list the tour prices in euros?

Two reasons. Tour prices are live figures that GetYourGuide updates, so any number we typed here would go stale. And the castle publishes its tickets in złoty, so converting them would invent a rate that nobody charges. The live panels on this site quote the current price.

Do children pay to enter Moszna Castle?

Children under 3 enter free. From 3 to 15 they pay the reduced rate, as do students with identification up to 26, pensioners with identification, people with a significant disability, and Large Family Card or Opole Family Card holders.
