Parking and dogs at Moszna Castle
Parking
The car park at the reception entrance holds about 50 vehicles. That is a small number for a site that also runs a hotel, a restaurant and an events programme, so a summer weekend or a wedding day can absorb it quickly. Overnight guests park free, subject to availability, which means the space is not reserved for them either. Coaches cannot park at the reception entrance, so a group arriving by bus needs to settle the arrangement with the castle in advance rather than turn up.
The practical response is the same one that applies to the chamber tours: come early. Morning is when the car park, the chamber slots and the daylight all still exist at the same time. There is no overflow field signposted for visitors, and the village lanes around the estate are narrow, so parking on the verge is not a plan we would rely on. The rest of the schedule is on the opening hours page.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome on the grounds on a leash and muzzled, which is the castle’s own wording and is stricter than many visitors expect. They are not permitted inside the castle and not in the hotel rooms. Since the park is the largest in the Opole region and is the longer half of most visits, a dog does not rule out a good day here, but it does mean one person waits outside while the other walks the chamber route. The same applies to the towers, which are reached by stairs inside the building.
If two of you are travelling with a dog, split the chamber tours. Book the same time slot on two different days, or take the unguided route in turn while the other walks the lime avenue.
If you would rather not drive
There is no direct public connection to the village, so the alternatives are a train to Gogolin plus a taxi, or a door-to-door tour. Both are set out on how to get to Moszna Castle. A private tour also removes the car park question entirely; live dates are below.
